THE COUPLE

Charlie and Sydney met in February 2022, through an online dating platform. Charlie planned their first date at a small bar in the Midtown neighborhood of Detroit. After a bottle of wine and countless stories told, Charlie walked Sydney home in what felt like a snow globe, and they discovered that they lived only blocks away from each other.

On April 19th, 2024 Charlie and Sydney were on their way to Ortonville for a celebratory dinner in honor of Sydney’s brother, who was soon graduating from high school. Per her parents’ request, they stopped by the new home that her parents were in the midst of building, to see all that had been finished. Charlie led Sydney to the backyard, revealing a gorgeous display of candles and flowers. He proposed with the lake surrounding them on all sides, which turned out to be only the start of a weekend full of surprises, family, and friends.

Choosing The Masonic Temple as the venue for their wedding required zero consideration. One month into their relationship, Sydney planned a date for the two of them. They attended a piano concert in a dark room, completely filled and illuminated by candlelight. In the middle of the concert, Charlie whispered to Sydney that he loved her, and she echoed the sentiment back. The concert was held at The Masonic Temple, in the same Ballroom that the Wedding Reception will take place in.
